Scent Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Hello devs and reader, this is my suggestion about a new mechanic for the Ju-52 and for the waited allied cargo planes, the new abilty for these is to supply Tanks on the field by dropping the cargo, this is going to make a great addition and will help tankers to don´t retreat much from the front to rearm, also it can make cargo planes a more frontline role and a risky job to mantain the tanks in combat, making team chat and flares a good way to signal drop areas with a new type of smoke that you can shoot to the floor and mark the drop zone, obviously the cargo drop isn´t unlimited and idk how they are going to prefer but after a while or after it gets empty it dissapears. (I don´t know if this is already on the game) Thanks for reading.
JG1_Wittmann Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 This can already be done by mission makers if they wanted to, not really a developer item. All they would need to do is put in some cargo drop-points that could be made active to do Refuel/Repair/Re-Arm after a drop has been made on the point. It would just depend on if the mission maker has the time or the inclination to do such a thing

6./ZG26_5tuka Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) That indeed would be a great feature (not only for tanks but aircraft doing outlandings, too). As far as I know the current drop containers are no mission objects and therefore can't have such attributes. They also disappear rather quickly after landing. Hopefully, when time permits, this can be reworked to allow for a much more fluent, not entirely mission based way of combined arms interactions. Edited May 25, 2021 by 6./ZG26_5tuka 1
76IAP-Black Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 The Problem is the ground friction outside of roads and airfields. Try to land somewhere in a field with a U-2 and you are stuck 1

[CPT]Crunch Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 And if the enemy gets there first, he gets the goods, don't mess it up, takes a pro.
