Mission running from x-time to x-time in x-minutes

Hi,

 

Is it possible to increase the speed at which the time of day advances?

For instance, i would like my mission to start at dusk and should run to dawn in about 4 hours.

 

I've seen a reply on the forum stating to use a translator begin > timer > translator end. But that doesn't seem to work, or am i missing something very obvious?

That amounts to speeding-up the rotation of the planet without affecting anything else. Thankfully not.

That's a valid answer to a certain question, but not yours.

Yes, run the mission on 8x speed

You will have to sit there for 4 hours with the mission running at 8x but OK...

Although I have never used it for that purpose, if you put a 4 hour timer from Mission Begin -> 4 hour Timer -> Mission End your mission will end after 4 hours has elapsed on the in game clock.

Thanks for your reply. Sadly, this is not what i was hoping to find.

I hoped that it was some how possible to make the time run faster so a multiplayer mission has a shorter day cycle.

I know it does not answer your request, but maybe you could split your mission in three shorter sub-missions. The first part at dawn the second at midday, and the third before dusk.

Actually, we noticed that adding every 1 (real time) second, 3 seconds advanced in the game when i added a the following:


TR:Start -> Timer 600min -> mission end

I thought it would just run for 10 hours. So, something happend there it seems.
I will however break it up (like you suggested), allthough tick stays well below 5 throughout the entire mission (with about 12 guys testing).
