Custom skin preview in UI

I recently purchased my first Great Battles game, Battle of Bodenplatte.

 

I have downloaded and installed custom 4K skins.  I can select them and they show up when I fly a mission.  The problem is when I select one of these planes their is no preview image like when selecting an official (stock) skin.  I have no idea what the plane will look like until I enter the mission.

 

How do I get the preview images when selecting custom skins?

You can't, basically. You should know what it looks like because you chose it in the first place. The only other way is to look at it in the Viewer but that can't be accessed while you are in-game.

Well that answers that.  Thanks for explaining that the game does not have that feature.

I will now go about memorizing all of the skins so I remember exactly what all of the custom skins I have look like. ?

 

Only flight sim I have come across in 30+ years of playing them that doesn't give a preview/image of an aircraft skin when you are choosing one stock or custom before you select fly.

It's nothing really. Don't get all stressed about it and just have fun.

maybe i got wrong end of stick here but you can, just before mission start the plane is in the hangar, after pressing custom you see the plane with the new skin on, downloaded or official

I meant that as a light-hearted comment, NOT as a statement of your ineptitude. No need for sarcasm. I was just answering your question is all. As Na-zdorovie says, you can see your choice just before mission start... it's a little bit more clunky than seeing it in the thumbnail but the capability is there.

I'd suggest making your own custom preview images.
