Yours_truly_Ace Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I was getting shot at, but didn't see any tracers and wondered where the hell the shots came from. Then I looked down. And far dawn below me. We are talking 1000 yards maybe. There it was: A bloody two seater german almost scraping the mud. I flew down to engage him, but that was not a smart choice. No matter what angle and speed I came from the gunner made my plane into swiss cheese. Someone needs to nurf the gunner on these planes
J99_Sizzlorr Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Hi Gunmeyer, the AI of the 2 seaters planes is chosen randomly when they spawn. When facing good guners best is to atack the 2 seater from below where they can not bring their guns on you.
Yours_truly_Ace Posted May 24, 2021 Author Posted May 24, 2021 Yeah, I know that. Been flying RoF and FC for long time now. But that kind of precision is very unrealistic
JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Somewhere there is a discussion about the arc of fire on the two seaters. The CLII is especially limited; much more so than the Bristols. Whoever was flying the CLII must have been quite good in order to be always able to bring to bear on you the rear seat gunner, "no matter what angle or speed [you] came from".
US103_Baer Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 @Guynemer If the CL2 is scraping the deck, the pilot knows what he's doing so be careful. However the CL2 gunner does have a blind spot at a high angles in FC. Try attacking vertically or as high angle as can, shoot from longer range and pull back up into the safe zone before getting too close. If gunner does fire, notice what angle the gunner starts shooting at you and don't get into that zone. This is the lowest risk approach we've figured out. It takes discipline and patience and could take a few runs, but with practise you can do it without taking hits, which is critical, given that a couple of bullet holes in the wing is enough to deter anyone Entente from diving on an EA. 1
