KPnutskgwanchos Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Hi there Pat.... I almost feel bad/silly for even asking this but.... Is there anyway to either control or any assistance to help you choose a campaign that will not have long flight times? I set one up for the Mig3 this week and the first mission was a 40 min flight to target. I do appreciate the game engine limitations in this respect ... But I was just wondering if you had built a fightime specific preference selector in that I may have missed... Or perhaps there are certain maps or mission types that would be less inclined to involve long flight times? Many thanks for your excellent work regardless ?
PatrickAWlson Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Air start is one option. Fighters are closer to the front than attack planes which are closer to the front than bombers. The Rhine map has the longest flight times. Moscow and Stalingrad are shorter. Kuban is a mixed bag. You can use the Intel map to find a unit with an airfield close to the front and transfer to that unit. 1

Thanks Dutch much appreciated .... any advice on how to transfer to a closer field as well? ... I made a note of all the closer airfield names on the campaign Ive started but the transfer options only give me a regiment(squadron?) not a location ... is there a way to get details on the regiment in term of what airfield they operate from ?

Easiest way: Open Intelligence->Intel Map Look for units close to the front. Transfer to one of those units. A little vague because I am not able to look at PWCG at the moment but I will try to get more detailed button clicks when I can 1
