sturmkraehe Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 (edited) Hi, I have an issue with the Dark Green layer in the Camo group of the official Tempest Mk V s II 4k template. When trying to fill the camouflage pattern with another color on the upper side of the right wing it colors the entire wing and not only the shape of that layer (I took care to have the Dark Green layer activate and that the fill cursor is on the right spot. It works correctly on the left wing). Has anybody a work around or an advice? I use GIMP latest version. Edited May 20, 2021 by sturmkraehe
ICDP Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 I would never use a fill tool to change camo colours. I would advise using the colour balance or hue tool to change the layer.

ICDP Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 I would aim for an about right more than specific RGB, these are planes that have weathering and were exposed to the elements. Aiming for a specific RGB is a bit too pedantic when it comes to active service WWII fighters. 1
sturmkraehe Posted May 20, 2021 Author Posted May 20, 2021 Is there any other workaround available maybe?

What I would do in p-shop is 'Colour Overlay' (yes, I'm English!). If there's an equivalent in GIMP then go down that route... Check the bottom right-hand corners... ... for instance? sturmkraehe Posted May 21, 2021 Author Posted May 21, 2021 Thanks, your advice was very helpful! I did not find a colour overlay in GIMP but thanks to your advice I found the command colors->coloring in the menue that did what I wanted to! 1

Lock the alpha channel of the layer then use the bucket fill. Don't fill the areas individually. Its the square button below the opacity bar. 3
bcmarken13 Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I believe that colorize is what you’re looking for in GIMP
