Virpil Mongoose Throttle flaps binding issues...

I've had my throttle for a month.  Watched numerous YouTube videos on mapping the flaps axis as buttons, so I can effectively use it with NO luck.  I've watched "Johns Gaming and Tech" videos as well as the "Havoc" ones.  Anyone have a simple explanation to get this to work?  

 

*I've used JoyTester in the VPC software to confirm I mapped the keys correctly.  Still no luck.

 

*Also just installed Joystick Gremlin to see if that would work.  Nada!
