[80 years ago today] "• In 1940, Sweden ordered 144 Vultee Model 48C fighters. The US government seized the order and offered one hundred of them to the British, retaining the rest as the P-66. Designated the Vanguard by the RAF, a dozen will be used as advanced fighter trainers in Canada. Today, an agreement is reached to transfer a total of 129 machines to the Nationalist Chinese.
