Lagg-3 66 series

I would very much like to see the Lag-3 66 series implement with the upgraded airframe and designs.

It seems quite fast up to its full throttle hight, beating the Bf109 G-6 and Yak-9 with the same engine (though lower FTH).

This would be a great plane to have in the simulator. The current lagg 3 is underrated and this variant would be so fun to fly.?

Yes, it is a bit hindered by the lower rated Klimov 105P

the Upgraded would 105PF would be a welcomed addition.

The ingame LaGG-3 has the PF, as you can see by the Manifold Pressure of 1060.

 

The Series 66 basically incorporates many Changes that were made to the LaGG-3 to become the La-5, mostly a fully retracting Tailwheel, Better Fit and Fitment as well as Quality Control and Automatic Slats.

The Engine remained the PF, no Power Increase.

PS: Also the late type Windscreen, which could be armored.

We need a much more earlier Version than the current one we have.

 

But all in all i would vote for more Lagg versions!

1 to 3 Series with 2x7.62 Shkas, 2x12.7UBS and 1x12.7UB or 20mm Shvak (5 Guns Total in the Nose, which were gradually deleted on later Versions) and retractable Tailwheel. Because they were made Pre-War the Quality is reasonable so they were pretty quick (590 at 5k, 500 at Sea Level) but heavy and slow to Climb.

Yup, 5 gun Lagg is awesome firepower wise on the early maps, can hold its own, great guns in good hands are always dangerous.  The challenge of bringing those guns to bare is sweet too.  They're going to learn the hard way not to dis the varnished coffin.
