SR603-Flowbee Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) Born on November 21 1919, Josef “Pepi” Jennewein initially achieved fame as a world champion skier. However, he’s also perhaps better remembered as a Luftwaffe ace in WWII. He flew 271 missions and achieved 86 victories, nearly all of them on the Eastern Front. Oberfeldwebel Jennewein disappeared after force-landing his Fw 190A-6 behind Russian lines in July 1943, and was later posthumously awarded the Ritterkreuz. This aircraft is a Focke-Wulf 190A-4, of which 976 were built between June 1942 and March 1943. The Fw 190 was well-liked by its pilots, and at the time of its introduction in 1941, this Luftwaffe workhorse fighter was considered superior to the Spitfire Mk. V. It was so effective that more than 20,000 were eventually manufactured (including 6000 fighter-bombers). The die-cast replica portrays an aircraft of 3./JG.51 flown by then Leutnant Jennewein. The Fw 190A-4 carries a two-color summer camouflage scheme used at this time in June 1943 in the region of Orel on the Eastern Front. The distinctive “5” is displayed on the fuselage sides. This skin is based on a profile that caught my eye. Although finding plenty of models and profiles associated with this aircraft I have found no substantiating period photographs. You can therefore judge it as is on a scale ranging from the usual subjective to semi-historical to fantasy. It is what it is. One thing for sure is that the number was not yellow. Just have fun with it and maybe spare a thought for the brave pilot who might have flown it. https://mega.nz/file/RgsWxYYK#Q-1OK4gYmFL2RIh0acuhrx9wCC48mevmxn01y0uj2ms Edited May 19, 2021 by SR603-Flowbee 10 3 5
JG_deserteagle540 Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Brilliant work! Thank you very much. Here is another FW190A5 which might give some inspiration. 2
imanuthep Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 nice skin Flowbee but why didn't you use the Fw190A3 instead of the A5 ? (A4 is similar to A3) 1
BMA_FlyingShark Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Again, thank you for you work, very nice. Have a nice day. 1

(A4 is similar to A3) You can use the skin for both the A3 and the A5 as there is virtually no difference. From a model perspective the Fw190 A5 looks more like the A4 because it has the same cooling vents (which have adjustable shutters rather than the plain cut vents of the A3). Also the radio mast on the tail plane is identical in both A5 and A4. It is simply a better fit from an external view. The mechanical differences and armament components are not skinning issues. Hope that explains it. I should amend the heading perhaps. Here is the only? difference between the A5 and A3 caused by the bumpmap and alpha not being the same. And here is an amended version for the A3 in case it is annoying as some errors can be... https://mega.nz/file/M8FkjBzZ#z3vkjDovElhMjfnGLY2a4JDOyLpZZTPvRaYsiMJqiPg You caught me on a quiet day awaiting a delivery... imanuthep Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Hey... it was just a little remark and I wasn't excepting that much so thanks for taking the time to make another version 1
esk_pedja Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Just a variation... Greener cammo, new engine smoke, higher sky blue,...etc. Just personal preferences...
-=[]=-little-Guardian Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 +1 ! great work as always . . . How did you create the clouds in the second screenshot? The ones that are literally lying on the mountains . . . And a question, could you make the screenshots bigger? Like at least 1920x1080p . . . I would love to have some of them as Desktop backgrounds :-) If its not possible to post them here, you could add them to the download. Just an idea Thank you again greetings little Guardian 1
CUJO_1970 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Flowbee’s skins really can’t be improved upon ? It’s like painting over a Van Gogh and saying hey look I like these colors better. 1

Just an idea Thank you again greetings little Guardian I merged a photograph with the screenshot. I’ve been trying to figure that out as well. But with a 1920x1080 monitor I don’t have many spare pixels to play with especially when putting a slope on on the horizon and then squaring up the edges. I really need a 4K monitor to try making wallpapers but running in 3DVision my graphics also need to run at a steady 100fps (50fps per eye). My gtx1080 and I7-4790 can barely cope as it is. On the bright side I am only one lottery win away from achieving this goal. ?

I appreciate Flowbee masterpieces as much as top art fans (see the green upvote at initial post) ...otherwise I would not enjoy editing - that I only do at masterpieces...? Regarding Van Gogh, I prefer Rembrandt... P.S. Smoke trail is not - at top art level I enjoy from Flowbee masterpieces... just my lack of taste
JG_deserteagle540 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 I found this picture of a FW190A8. The worn out paint outside the cockpit took my attention. The weathering and wear of Flowbee's skins aren't exaggerated. Thanks a lot for the A3 skin 1
