What VR hardware would you recommend me and a few more questions

I've updated my system specs as my signature was pretty much outdated. Please see below.

What model would you recommend? I probably will use it almost exclusively for IL2 although open to further applications depending on games.

BTW: I have to wear glasses and without them I would not see much (being almost a mole without). And they're not really small. Would this work?

And how to integrate my headset? Does this pose an issue?

What is the comfort carrying it for extended times?

There is a post for that:

We are always testing new CPUs and GPUs in the SYN_VANDER thread and table. You can take a look.

Current Intel 11th gen CPUs are also good.

The latest AMD GPUs (6800XT, 6900XT) were having issues with IL-2. But someone told me they have been corrected but still need to prove that.

If you wear glasses I would pick a headset which has lens-relief regulation like the Valve Index o the new HTC VivePro2.

Thanks! I will take a look. A quick view told me that  what you discuss there is beyond my rig and I think I will stay with mine for at least another year or two.

So do you think VR is a worthwhile investment already with my present rig?

VR is awesome and I can not fly in IL-2 without. When I have 2-3 hours of free time (rarely) that time go to IL-2 VR.

But VR is not for everyone.

In my last 5 years of usage I have learnt that 1 every 10 people (ballpark) don´t like VR after properly testing it.

Last year I made a poll to know exactly why desktop people didn´t move to VR: you can take a look here.

If you want to test VR with your current rig I would not go to latest devices (like G2 or VivePro2) which need top GPUs.

I don´t like to recommend Oculus products (they force you to log in Facebook), but if you can swallow that pill, then a second hand Rift-S could be cheap and easy to go headset. So, you try VR and determine if you like it or not.

Then if you liked it you can perhaps upgrade only the CPU. Your 7700 is not the K version. Get a second hand 7700K and put a CPU cooler and do moderate overclock. This will be a minor upgrade and it will give you some extra fps.

For modern headsets, I don't think glasses are an issue. The original Rift CV1 wasn't so great with them, but workable. The Rift S, Quest and Reverb G2 are all fine with glasses so long as you take at least a little care when taking the headset on or off. This is mostly to avoid knocking the glasses off your face. For system specs, you will be running at 40 or 45 fps in any headset you choose due to the CPU, though your GPU isn't going to have much left either at that fps. For a top end device like the Reverb G2, you might run into GPU limits too without dropping resolution. The lower resolution devices should be fine though. I would also recommend a second hand Rift S if you can put up with facebook. It's a solid headset for the budget minded and one of the few that you can just plug in and use without any tinkering, it's the facebook crap that's the issue.

For comparison, my system (see signature) runs a solid 45 fps at native resolution with the Reverb G2 in DCS and generally gets 90 fps in quick missions in IL2.

For comfort, I don't have any issues with the Reverb G2 for long play sessions (2+ hours), the same was true with the Quest. The Rift S has the halo design and these won't stay on my head without trying to crush my skull, even then they tend to be bouncy. So that style doesn't work well for me and tends to be a 30 minutes or less thing.

I’d HIGHLY recommend investigating in some prescription lense add ons for whatever headset you decide on. I’ve got some for my Quest/Rift S and my Reverb G2 and they are worth every penny.
