Is upgrading from HP Reverb to the G2 version worth it for Il2?

I really like my HP Reverb which I use almost on a daily basis. I had it for about 1.5 years.

 

I only use my VR for IL2 and do not want to use it for other VR games. For the same reason I have not used the controllers for my HP Reverb.

 

The resolution is the same on the newer G2 so what will I gain from upgrading in IL2? 

 

My computer specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900KF CPU @ 3.60GHz   3.60 GHz

32,0 GB Ram

 

GTX 2080 Ti

I will say no ... It need more power and it is not worth the money you have to pay for the G2 

I had G1 and the GPU 2080 super and in game  my settings were around medium 

Now I have the G2 and Gpu 3090 and in game my settings is around the same .. 

 

It's better , but not so much it's worth the money

Thanks Niirranen. I will keep my HP Reverb and wait for a later VR upgrade one day. Maybe together with a newer graphics card.

I went from the Reverb to the G2 with my 2080Ti and can say it’s not really worth it. The colours look great but it really requires the extra power to shine .

Thanks for the reply Skydance. Thats the same Graphic card I have. I guess you guys saved me from using a lot of money. I will stick with my HP Reverb.

Thanks again Niiranen.  Maybe we can also fly one day together using discord. You are always welcome to see my setup here in Ebeltoft.   

 

Looks like we have very similar setup. I have the VBK Gunfighter III base with 20 mm extension paired with my favorite grip Warthog F16 (with their Trustmaster adapter) and the fantastic Warthog trottle.  Build the setup on a plate with wheels so I can move it away when not flying.  Also cant fly without the Simshaker. No Buttkicker like you though.   

 

I fly mostly online but not for competitive reasons. I get shot down more than I inflict damage to the enemy.?  Getting as close as possible to the feeling of flying a real plane is what I enjoy in Il2. Thats also why I fly VR and dont use my TrackIr anymore.  In my opinion the VR is fantastic made in IL2. ?

Waw nice setup. I heard only good things about the Virpil. 

 

Yes speaking danish in IL2 would be something new for me too.

Oh and stick to the Reverb G1, the upgrade isn't worth it. Wait for the next weeks when the Vive Pro 2 releases, maybe that'll be an upgrade to go to (albeit with a heavy price tag)

I agree with Niiranen about Slesvig. We need a place to buy cheap liquor ?

I just watched some reviews of the Vive Pro 2 and apparently its not worth upgrading to that one either.  Reverb and Reverb G2 seems to be in the top of the VR´s for Il2 and sims in general.
