Ala13_UnopaUno_VR Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Has anyone been able to test this new tool? has it been possible to get something clear?
firdimigdi Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 (edited) While I did see what seems to be the effect they are going for (increased center clarity even with very small adjustments which did not impair peripheral vision) it messed with the convergence [at least in IL2, I did not try it in something else yet] and made it very uncomfortable. I suppose if that last bit is ironed out it might be interesting, especially for displays like the G2 has. Edited May 14, 2021 by 335th_GRFirdimigdi
dburne Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Seems the "Override World Scale" is available only in certain games. On mine while it is available on Half Life Alyx and MSFS 2020, it is not on IL-2 or DCS.
firdimigdi Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 (edited) Really? I can use it in IL2 although I already had it setup using the in-game IPD adjustment so it's not really that useful (for IL-2 specifically). Edited May 14, 2021 by 335th_GRFirdimigdi

Nope on my end there is not a world scale option in Steam VR for IL-2.

Ok so I had another look and found out why the world scale option was not showing for me. I have mine set in profile for the game for Motion Smoothing on and forced at 45 fps. I changed it back to default and then I do have the world scale option available. I will leave mine set to on and forced at 45 fps though, as that gives me best experience.
firdimigdi Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 (edited) Ah... Silly question but since it's not 100% obvious because the scrollbar isn't very visible: are you sure it's not just "pushing" the options down and you have to scroll down to see them? Edited May 14, 2021 by 335th_GRFirdimigdi

Not silly at all - bingo you are correct! All I had to do was scroll down to see it - duh! Thanks!
FTC_ChilliBalls Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Is Steam VR still inferior to the Open Composite Runtime Switcher?
