Hi. No roads alas on the Arras Noman's land. Doing a test with the pre-post arras no craters mod, and no dummyexplosions mod,

i created a loooooooooooooong bridge.

However the various parts wont level out correctly and a vehicle will not continue.

It seems you cannot correct heights, and 'set to ground' is no option, doesn't work here.

 

Without the post-prewar mod active it's the same, it seems somethings wrong with the Arras map heights in the noman's land zone.

Has anyone ever created roads or raiways with the Surface Edit functions? I tried it quite unsuccessful so far.

 

PS if you open the ARRAS map witch surface editing enabled you can see where the trenches are.

But not all, some are coded elsewhere, but maybe they're the cause of the above?

I removed them without problems, dunno if saving these the edits succeeded.

Most of us are smart enough to not waste our time, since we don’t have access to the proper map making tools or SDK, and even if we were successful anything we did would show up on our map only.

I knew i wasn't that smart but jus' hoping someone else was ... i wouldn't mind a more or less personal map.

However, failure is a great learning tool.  I figure that if I try something and it fails I've at least learned what not to do or in the case of the ME what isn't possible.  But, the editor is so complex and there are several ways of skinning the cat for some events, that it's always worth trying.

Often I get frustrated with what can't be done but it drives me to find a way to either work around it or change my expectations.

But "a waste of time"?  Not to my way of thinking.
