VacMaster1991 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 So I just installed Il-2 GB on my new pc and am having an issue. Whenever I try to map keys I automatically get "null" as the input. No matter what key or joystick button I press I always Get null. I am using the Logitech X52 Pro. The files in my input folder are not set at read only and I don't use Trackir Thanks.
AndyJWest Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Have you installed Il-2 GB in a subfolder of C:\Program Files? That can cause issues, since Windows can stop files there from being modified.
FlyingH Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Have you made a profile in the program manager for the X52?
VacMaster1991 Posted May 10, 2021 Author Posted May 10, 2021 Yep. I did. No different. With or without the X52 software. I even tried my Thrustmaster Airbus edition. Same issue
AndyJWest Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I suppose you could try disconnecting the Joystick entirely, and see if that at least lets you set keys. Failing that, I'd have to suspect either a bad install, or faulty hardware. Or maybe even a problem with your Windows installation, if this is a new PC.
FlyingH Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 (edited) Did you activate the profile, ie did the icon in the task manager turn green? Edited May 11, 2021 by FlyingH
VacMaster1991 Posted May 12, 2021 Author Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) I have no Idea how to activate a profile. Plus. When I installed the X52 software that is where the issue began. But now removing the software does nothing. Disabling the X52's built in mouse does nothing. I am pretty much at the point of giving up here unless a permanent solution is found. FlyingH Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Have you read the user manual? There you find how to and links to information vids on how to. do a google search for the HOTAS (x52 pro) and you´ll find more help.
VacMaster1991 Posted May 12, 2021 Author Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) Ok so I found part of the issue. When you first installed the X52 drivers the driver also installs a HID compliant mouse. Which is how the mouse on the x52 throttle works. But I found that it's the x52s built-in mouse that is causing this. So I disabled the mouse on the x52 in device manager. Big problem. The mouse scroll wheel is disabled in all my games. So now I lose a major functionality. Does anybody know a workaround to this. Or does anybody know a key to mouse wheel binding software that works in games. Joy to key doesn't work. Atleast for me Edited May 12, 2021 by VacMaster1991
