Here you have it, the "Windows Mixer": 1
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted May 11, 2021 Team Fusion Posted May 11, 2021 You should set your ingame sound to 100%... with possibly the exception of music if you don't like it. Then you adjust the sounds from your speakers/headphones with the Windows Sound mixer to your preferred level of comfort. If you don't set the ingame sounds to 100%, then you can lose some sounds, like bullet impacts or others.
Reccelow Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Tried this, not effective for me. Changes all sounds equally, so looking for a method of decreasing only engine or increasing only radio/cockpit. Perhaps this can be done by (engine) sound file manipulation?
Angry_Kitten Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 not effective at all.. engine sounds are same horrendous noise
Sokol1 Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 No solution, or you lower overall sound, and miss sounds like hits, etc or anticipate being deaf. ? Engine sounds is too loud... in the name of "realism".
343KKT_Kintaro Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Look at my screenshot shown above... my Cliffs of Dover Widows Mixer is very low, this makes I hear properly my collegues on TS and, also, it makes my simulation sound is not excessively loud. Honestly, I see no problem with the sound in this game.
Angry_Kitten Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 Im using headphones here kids, its fricking loud. Doing it to match your screen shot, two things happen. ALL the volumes go up to unpleasant levels, or they go down to where the only thing i hear is machine gun fire and the damn engine
stevinne Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 (edited) I have to agree that the engine sounds are just way too loud. No other flight sim I've flown, and I've been doing them since the 1990s, has engine sounds this loud - or at least included an option to go in and set it to a comfortable level. It's the thing keeping me from moving on to Tobruk. I like the sim, but I don't want to sacrifice my hearing to play it and turning everything down just to get the engine sounds manageable is definitely a throw-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater solution. Dagwoodyt Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 This is not a new issue. There is no way that I am aware of in SP to independently adjust engine noise lower so that other other sounds (voice comms) can be heard. This may be hard coded within the game engine and not accessible to correct. If that be the case it might just be better to so state.
