Gold IL2 statue and Red curtain

Hi all!

 

Quick question, just launched the game today, and I could see a really nice golden Sturmovik statue in the hangar, and a red curtain behind.

 

Is it to commemorate VE-Day ? If yes, love the attention, I was already feeling happy playing on this day, makes it better

Most likely yes.  Russia celebrates Victory Day on 9 May though.  Although Germany surrendered to the Allies (with Soviet officers in attendance) at a ceremony in Reims, France on 8 May 1945 , Stalin and the Soviets insisted on their own surrender ceremony and that took place on 9 May 1945.

Well spotted: I think you must be right. I do not think I would have noticed otherwise as it is right in front of the nose of the plane in the hanger so not visible when you first open the game.

 

The developers do like their little Easter Eggs.

Even though I live in the UK I tend to regard the 9th May as the day of Victory. The ground war in Europe was won in the East and there go the spoils.

Just for giggles I got up in VR and peered behind the curtain, was surprised to see stacks of cases of .50 APIT.

I was thinking to see if we could have a flying beer can.. Who woldnt wanna try to fly a can or bottle of their favorite german or bavarian beer with wings?
