moustache Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 hello, my question is simple: do you know a simple software that would allow you to emulate a joystick with a mouse? to have something similar to this :
stupor-mundi Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 (edited) vJoy is a virtual joystick. IL2 is able to use it. On its own, I don't know if you can point a mouse at it. So another piece of software such as FreePIE might be needed. FreePIE is very useful, it lets me use a MIDI device for tank controls, also pointing at vjoy.https://andersmalmgren.github.io/FreePIE/ Edited May 8, 2021 by stupor-mundi 1
Monostripezebra Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 I would, in any case, very much go rather with a cheap stick instead.. the issue is, that it always seems like the cheap sticks are utter crap, but personally, I like the speedlink "impact" or "black widow" ones.. solid and not overly expensive, with reasonable rudder control on the trottle and transportable.. it is way-way more fun then trying to mouse stick things, really.
moustache Posted May 8, 2021 Author Posted May 8, 2021 in fact i'm bothering to find a solution because when playing with the mouse the view is automatically refocused ... not with a joystick ... but the joystck play seems ... strange to me ...

Maybe there's an additional problem when using the mouse to emulate a joystick for turret movement/aiming. The mouse by default is used for looking around, from the open hatch and inside the tank. I'm not entirely sure that that would still work. Maybe yes, just want to mention the possibility of weird behavior.
moustache Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 I have tried various emulator, but the in-game use is strange ... when i want to aim i can't move diagonally ... and stopping the output stops the movement ... I think I will wait for an update from the dev, if it is planned ... but anyway, thank you for your help
