LAGG-3 Overheat

Could someone please assist me in getting the radiators (oil/water) open on a LAGG-3?
I have the following key bindings and none of them work:

Oil radiators shutters control axis: RSht + RCtl + Equals / RSht + RCtl + Minus
Water radiators shutters control axis: RCtl + Minus / RCtl + Equals

What am I missing here?

It may be your realism settings are not set for complex engine management.

I highly doubt 'cause the servers I play on seem to have realistic settings. Is there any way of checking this in game once I am connected to the server?

 

SOLVED:

The issue was that I need to hold down the buttons before they take effect. Now that's something I did not expect.

Yeah, that could be a problem if you're used to the Spit or the Bf-110 (or new to manual radiators entirely).  You need to hold a button or assign an axis, because they're gradual. Just pressing the button only does anything on aircraft with radiators controlled in steps.

Also its radiators are not so good at cooling engine so youll mostly have to have them 50-100% open, and on summer maps climbing with 100% open on full power wil get you owerheated in few min.

also mix has to be rather high to get the cooling benefit
