Talisman Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Hi Folks, I find the aircraft control surface force feed-back (FF) very week with CloD compared to all other flight simulations I fly when using my MSFF2 joystick. What I mean by this is that the the control surfaces have no weight to them and at high speed the increased air pressure on the aircraft controls feels negligible and the controls feel far to light overall. It takes a hell of a lot of speed before there is even the slightest increase in FF pressure on the stick. Anyone else find this? I tried increasing the FF value in the 1C SoftClub conf.ini file on my PC, which was by default set to FF=1. However, no matter how far I increased the number upwards from 1, there was no increase in FF and no improvement. All other flight simulations I use are fine and dandy in this respect, but not CloD for some reason. Also, I can't find any in-game setting options for FF, but perhaps I have missed them. Any guidance hints and tips as to how to get better FF, if that is indeed possible, would be gratefully received. Happy landings, Talisman
jdu Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Hi, You can use this software to customise your FF profiles (spring, cannon, machine-gun, drop bomb, ...) In folder "..\SteamApps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core\FF" you'll find the files corresponding FF effects. One you're looking for is spring.ffe. Open it in edit.exe and modify it following your taste (make a backup before any modifications) fedit.exe.zip

My problem is that when I open the file with note pad all I get is a load of unreadable gobbledygook text that puts me off and looks far too complicated for me to interfere with without some severe and unwanted repercussions. I have no idea how to open with edit.exe (never heard of it) and have googled it only to find it looks so complicated that it needs some kind of expert to use it. It is really off putting that the game developers expect customers to do this sort of thing without them providing a simple in-game setting adjustment feature like other titles. This leaves me stuck and not wanting to engage with CloD as a product. Think I will just have to give this up. Thanks for trying to help but it looks like CloD is just not for me and my MSFF2 Happy landings, Talisman 4 hours ago, OBT-Mikmak said: Thanks Mikmak, but no joy. See my reply to jdu. Ok, tried Mikmak' spring strength ffe file and it is far worse than the game default! It just corrupted things for me and I had to repair game file by using Steam file verification. I just don't get what is going on here and am not impressed with the implementation of FF in CloD Blitz at all. We need a proper in-game FF setting facility IMHO. No wonder folks give up with flight sims and don't bother. No wonder the user community is so small. Happy landings, Talisman
