Yes, I'm enjoying playing it... The mission editor is easy to use, but have to say as to 'meat on the bone', it's not going to have the same massive content that Arma 2 had on release.

Pre-ordered mine months ago! Can't wait to play the full release. I hope we can start modding it with WW2 content. I'd love to make a model of an Fw-190A,F or D.

I used to spend more time writing missions than playing. I once wrote a night attack where you had to HALO jump from a V-22 Osprey into a fortified Russian compound and blow up a weapons cache. I had six BTR-90's patrolling along with 3 man foot patrols, guard tower watch personnel. We had to capture a Major alive and extract by procuring a vehicle then head out to sea in a Zodiac to be picked up by an SH-60B while avoiding the boat patrols I dropped in there too. Oh and I gave the enemy a UAV as well. I completed my mission after 39 attempts, LOL!

I've enjoyed the alpha and beta releases. A big improvement on animation, speech acting and overall presentation will make this a great platform for modding. Quite a few things already ported over like Dayz and mission files like Wasteland, looking forward to i44 making it across too

I also bought it in April but unfortunately I have huge FPS problems in multiplayer with my gtx650 Ti OC 1Gb and 4 core Amd with 8Gb ram

i am between 5-15 fps in MP, but 60 in SP :-(

new mod for ARMA 3 that uses the old Iron Front for ARMA3, and a couple other mods, to recreate a real battlefield.

 

It’s a new mod and it looks like it could be good fun.  Completely free if you own ARMA3 too.

 

I look forward to taking a 190 or P-47 (there are more AC too) and doing CAS on smoke markers laid by some infantry in contact with the enemy.  Maybe a flak gun will force me to bail after an attack?  Oh well, gotta find my way back to friendly line... good thing I got a map, compass, and a .45 ACP to help me on my trek.

 

Some people are trying to get an event going and I thought this community may enjoy this type of sim.  We lose some stuff with the aircraft - loadouts are limited and the instrument panel needs love, but we gain a lot of other features that I’ve been wanting in our game since open beta.

It just popped up in my suggested articles in Chrome, a DLC in Cold War setting. According to the description it features new terrain, 42 vehicles, 21 weapons and a 10 mission single player campaign! 

 

I was pleasantly surprised since all other Arma 3 DLCs feature some nonexistent futuristic crap just like the vanilla game and the only things that keep me interested in this game are mods (RHS, IFA3, Unsung, etc). So I've decided to share the news with the community. They plan to release it on April 29th:

Not for me... I was expecting BAOR, US forces etc as we were out there for years waiting for the Warsaw Pact to come across that border.

As it's just the German factions I'll give it a miss.

If it expands to the rest of NATO I'll purchase it.

Wasn't aware of that - but I'll agree with Trooper117 that it would be great if this would someday grow into a Cold War pack with mor WP and NATO content. And a little further content for the German armies would also be nice - Leopard 2, Marder IFV and aviation at some point would be awesome!

Tried the "Eldest Son" mission several times, and fail in reach the extraction point.

I like this mod, besides hindered by ARMA3 usual quirks (physic collisions with scenery, AI or very "Terminator" or very dumb...) - what I am used in ~4k hours in Wasteland mode.

 

Manage to finished the Eldest Son mission in solo player - the thing is the mission is designed for COOP up to 10 player's, so an overwhelm number of enemies.

 

Exfil part was very nice with F-4's "napalm'ing" and "cluster'ing" your steeps and Cobras's making cannon runs on NVA very close to your position when defending the LZ awaiting the H-34 for extraction. Instead go straight for LZ I run in opposite direction and after capture NVA sampan and take a big detour. 

 

The mod reminds "Vietcong". A thing what I missed was that there were no "booby traps", mines across the scenery - but a mission maker option.

 

BTW - "Prairie Fire:  the code word used by MACV-SOG to identify recon ops into Laos (previously known as Shining Brass) and it was also used by helicopter pilots flying in support of SOG’s Recon A team was in imminent danger of being overrun, or was compromised and on the run – the exfil of SOG-assets in an emergency.

This is stark contrast to every single ARMA 3 release since...ever.  I've got no sympathy for any devs "low effort" marketing their products they expect customers to spend money on so gonna be holding off on this one untiI I see a few unbiased reviews, hopefully this one isn't a stinker since the recent Prairie Fire DLC was so good.

It's basically a rehash of stuff already in CUP and other free mods.  I'm baffled Bohemia Interactive actually ok'd this one for sale.  Evidently it was originally supposed to released before Prarie Fire but Bohemia Interactive wanted them to fix a bunch of stuff, doesn't seem like they fixed enough unfortunately....
