jollyjack Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Setting wind at take off, does that have an influence on the Ai-ed player takeoff direction too? Seems the plane follows wind pressure, even if set to 0 at ground level.
AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 For a no-taxi takeoff (spawned on runway), the AI will take off in the direction they're spawned in. So the wind direction doesn't matter there. Although, of course, you should always spawn your aircraft into the wind.
jollyjack Posted May 6, 2021 Author Posted May 6, 2021 (edited) yep, done some testing, since some times the take off does not really follow the correctly set frist waypiont along the line of a (concrete) airstrip, but a few degrees off. Might be that waypoints are set too close to the end of a runway. Funny, noticed that on particularly Dutch and Belgian airfields, like Venlo and Schiphol. BTW manuai takeoffs with a crosswinds is more fun. Ask a 'real' pilot. Besides, in real life you cannot always choose ... Edited May 6, 2021 by jollyjack
