One to add to the logbook, nice one. 1

Its hard to verify from an external point of view... but it looked like the guy was trying to save his online stats by crash landing before the tables of the dogfight turned against him. Although that is an assumption. It's seen as foul play / gaming the system, as no sensible pilot would realistically ditch like that in real life unless they had sustained significant damage (they might bail out though). In short it looked like he was trying to deny a potential kill.

He was trying to save his stats.

Just to clarify: if you are being shot at when attempting to crash land - then put your navigation/landing lights on, or lower your gear... or even just waggle your wings before - something to indicate you are actually conceding the fight. It can be hard to understand what someone is trying to do in a split second when you're in a dogfight especially at low level and I've had people who are quite damaged and seem like they're about to give up, then they put on navigation lights and try to fight back again. Usually because they were trying to attract attention for friendly fighters. It doesn't go down well online - so indicate if you're about to crash land and make sure you follow-through. If people are shooting at you when you've come to a stop and crash landed (for absolutely no reason on your part) then that's different - sometimes just immaturity.
NN_Razor Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 From my point of view, those who turn on the lights navigation during a fight are cheaters, but it's not the subject. My english is perhaps so bad, but i told u, i've been straff after my plane was badly damaged in a fight, and after i ditched my plane on the ground, my opponent try to kill my pilot. He would probably shot me under a parachute. 1
