Beebop Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) Maybe I am losing my mind. About a year and a half ago I came to the community seeking help on getting paratroops to drop. You provided me with a ton of help and eventually i got the result I wanted. Since then I have done very little with paratroopers. I have had a lot of success getting bombers to drop where I wanted without circling though, again thanks to the many helpful posts in the forums. Below is the logic diagram for the test mission. The 'Para Drop Area' MCU is set for 2 minutes. Here's what happens: When planes get to 'Drop WP' they begin to shake. As they get to the 'Para Drop Area' MCU they shake violently, pitch up and turn away to the right. They return to 'WP1' area and re-approach the 'Para Drop Area' MCU. Again they shake at 'Drop WP' and again violently at the 'Para Drop Area' MCU, pitch up and start dropping. As they drop they circle right and when done dropping proceed continue turning right to the 'RTB WP' (Return To Base) waypoint. I have tried different altitudes, moved the 'DropWP' closer and further away, changed all the timings for the OnBinboBombs logic...nothing seems to work. Obviously what I want is for the planes to fly to the drop zone, drop the paras and continue to the next waypoint(s). I have read and re-read every post I could find about dropping paras and cargo including the latest C-47 dropping issues. Nothing seemed to shed any light on my predicament. Is there any chance that all the updates since my original post have changed how paratroopers drop? I have also attached the mission if anyone wants to look it over and make or suggest changes. NOTE: This is a Dogfight mission. Place in Multiplayer > dogfight. No spawn points, just use 'Spectate'. Thanks (yet again) in advance. ParaTests.zip Edited May 2, 2021 by Beebop
DN308 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) At which height do you drop your paras? 1000m, huh? I actually can’t play your mission but maybe, if you are too high, it could be the issue. Normally dropping paratroopers is done approximately at 1000 feet, not meters, especially during WW2. Try to lower the WP and « paras attack » MCU. Edited May 2, 2021 by DN308

Planes have icons so you can follow them with Ctrl + F2. Planes/Waypoints/Attack Area were initially all set to 500 meters with the same results.
DN308 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 What I wanted to say is that I’m AFK. I would be able to check it not before tomorrow evening. I’ll have a look a look on it then, if nobody can solve your problem before.

What you should do first is to put a complex trigger on the dropping zone, with the onparatrooperdrop box checked and add the event that then planes go to the RTB waypoint. But I still have to check your mission to understand why your planes are shaking. Maybe they are too fast. Don’t know...

So the OnBinboBombs Event message from the lead plane to the "Bingo Logic" group Target Linked to the RTB waypoint isn't enough?
DN308 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) For example, on my A-20 groups, I have often that problem. If one of your planes is not bingo something when the first one leaves the logic area, the next wpt is not triggering. So if you use a complex trigger, you can have the next wpt triggering at the first bomb, para or whatever dropped. Edited May 2, 2021 by DN308
Habu Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) Beebop, it seems there is a bug with paratrooper. They don't drop, or as you described, they drop after many flight over the drop point. I did a report last friday. Edited May 2, 2021 by Habu

I guess the paratroopers will have to take the bus for a while. ? 2
jollyjack Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 I had the dropping finally working .... after i had set the last waypoint quite far from the attack area, the Ju52 then wobblles, makes a left turn, and hurray. (use bingobombs, not bingocargo, someone gave me that tip). The same was with cargo and a C47 flight.
