=420=QuantumCycle Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I've been running a server for a couple of months now, and I must say it's very fun. One question I have however, is what has to be done in order to improve loading times for people who connect to the server ? I recently timed the whole process for me from selecting the server to arriving at the map at over 3 minutes ! 85 seconds of which were spent staring at the splash screen after the little red bar had fully loaded. I've carefully monitored the server with HWInfo64, and there is no spike in CPU usage during loading, so even though in only has an i5-4570 that doensn't seem to be the problem. The server has 24gb of RAM and runs off of a Samsung 850 Evo SSD, and it's on a 120 mbps down / 30 mbps up domestic connection. Any tips for faster loading times ?
DD_FT- Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Reduce the size of the mission file itself. If you are using the .mission file, then do not. Make sure only the .msbin file is on the server in the data/multiplayer/dogfight or cooperative folder. 8 hours ago, Noosphere said: 85 seconds of which were spent staring at the splash screen after the little red bar had fully loaded. Although this suggest something else, as the mission file has been downloaded by then... So, I dunno ... Maybe share the mission file so somebody can try and test loading it ... 1

Thank you very much !
