Voidhunger Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I really like this new feature, thumbs up! One thing I would like to have is to have this feature displayed even on destroyed tanks. Im recording almost every track and I love to observe post battle hits. But on destroyed tanks its not possible. Mainly on german tanks which explode after one hit and after that its imposible to know to which exact point enemy round struck. Right now you have to pause the track right before the explosion to see the entry hole. Also the destroyed burned out model looks weird, even the massive explosion didnt burn all the paint in real life right away. Its a shame that we cant have the exact models only slightly burned out with all the damage and DVD visible and not the simplified one. Our gaming PCs can handle that in QMB imho. Like the screenshot below. Add some fire, slightly buned paint and turret laying around. But as I said many many times those explosions in German armor are extremely annoying. 2 1
LachenKrieg Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Panther convertible, is that your Sunday driver Yeah it would be nice to see the DM updated so that tanks are not always completely burnt to a crisp, but left smoldering on the field with the guns slumped down, a hatch or two opened, and the fatal penetration marks that tell the story. 1 2

1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 This switch to the destroyed model is big smoke and mirrors, plus there should be also some impact physics , you can hit the truck, it explodes and just stops in place, because wheels become concrete block at once. We need more satisfaction from destroying stuff in this game . 2
LachenKrieg Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 What I find interesting about this franchise though is that the team seems to be motivated to the point where we might actually see some of these types of improvements. Just look at the detail that has been put into certain aspects of the SIM. It goes way beyond what you see on other platforms. These things can progress in steps where one update gets tweaked by another. But I think they also have to consider the memory/resource requirements, so a lot of what can be done falls back on the engine at the core of the SIM. This is kind of the same problem they face with maps. Increasing map detail, increases resource demands.
Voidhunger Posted April 27, 2021 Author Posted April 27, 2021 Some games have slider to increase/decrease duration of corpses, debris etc. Why no to have this in great battles? If your pc can handle it you can have dead crew in the tank/planes, dead crew laying around the tanks or parts of the tanks lying around for much longer. Its a nice that you can shot off some parts of the tank, but you can see them only in the recorded track.
LachenKrieg Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Yeah in fact I think in the ME you can set AI tanks to remain after they are knocked out, or you can set it so they disappear if I remember correctly. I haven't looked at the ME in months and never actually used that feature so I am not 100% sure.
SupremeCommander Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 YES!!!! we need this!!! DVD looks amazing but it's quite wasted because of that reason the core function of DVD is to tell the story after you having battle right? you gotta tweak this up dev's BTW DVD looks freaking fantastic but it doesn't function well as it supposed to be
