flak1962 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 hi guys recently developed a problem possibly since the new update, when i press esc key to go to settings or quit nothing happens i have to crash to get out! it doesnt work thru voice attack either i have realised keyboard is playing up since so have unpluged and used a gamer type of one handed keypad and still the same problem, another thing is when i tried changing the esc key to another key ,num 4 keeps popping up hope im explaining this ok and thanks in advance
itsbillyfrazier Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) Strange...sounds like it might be a hardware issue rather than the recent il-2 update as ESC is working fine for me. Can you verify if the ESC key works OK in other games/scenarios outside of il-2? Maybe try a different USB port also and re-verify your game files also if you are a Steam user. Sounds pretty weird though... Edited April 25, 2021 by itsbillyfrazier
I./JG52_Woutwocampe Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) It has happened to me once or twice that my keyboard in-game completely stopped working so I couldnt quit the mission. It was way before the last update though. Edited April 25, 2021 by I./JG52_Woutwocampe

As appeared to me to sometimes occur after using in-game overlay for Discord or perhaps also tabbing in and out to Discord or other programs. Discovered that repeated opening and closing of Discords in-game overlay using the shortcut then seems to sort things right. Edited April 25, 2021 by Oliver88
FlyingH Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 If you have flaps up or down key or ony other key sending commands the esc key will not respond. The simplest way to check is to alt tab to desk and start notepad and look for what letter, numer or symbol is repeated to find the sending key. Then you´ll remember next time wich key to flick back to neutral to get going (or ending) again. Don´ask me how I know!
