vadupleix7 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 I might just not be used to the physiology (haven't been playing much for a year) and I really have a hard time fighting a prolonged fight with AI. There are so many chances where I could just pulled and get the shot but my pilot says Nah! and almost blacks out so I had to ease the pull and let the chance slip away. I wonder if AI follows the same physiology? Do they get tired as well? What if I set the difficulty to 'simple physiology'? Then what about AI? I found that with the 'simple physiology' on I can turn fight a spit V with my spit XIV, so I'm not sure if the AI still follows the 'complex' physiology in that case? Thanks
Primus_71 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 I have seen ace AI in many cases black out and crash during a dog fight. Actually, that's a tactic I use in prolonged one-on-ones with the AI in a superior aircraft (e.g. 109 vs Lagg); I force it into a high G fight, and watch it black out and crash
1CGS LukeFF Posted April 25, 2021 1CGS Posted April 25, 2021 It uses the new, advanced physiology model, all of the time.
vadupleix7 Posted April 25, 2021 Author Posted April 25, 2021 Thanks, it’s assuring to know that. I’d just need to practice more then.

smink1701 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 It’s pretty simple. I didn’t totally understand the AI until I watched a number of NASCAR races. Then it became very clear. 2

Then it became very clear. Tell that to AI in the Fw-190 I was just chasing. It did a diving barrel roll that almost blacked me out. I was worried it'd get on my tail while I recovered, but evidently it wasn't in good shape g-wise, because it did a slow, lazy bank a few seconds later that I was able to follow. Still, the barrel dive was impressive. I had all I could do to follow him visually.

Vortice Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 The gunner will always get through, even when the bomber is plummeting earthwards trailing fire. 2
Knarley-Bob Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I just wish the AI ON MY SIDE would quit shooting me down.....? 1

Yep, why the devs still can't sort this out just baffles. Time after time, spinning plane on fire with 1 wing, and the gunner will still have you. Volleys of hits to the airframe, g-forces, nothing affects them. Edited April 29, 2021 by Bilbo_Baggins
