Why does starting engine reset the repair times?

Please tell me this is a bug that will be fixed, and not on purpose.  because it makes no sense.

I will be repairing a track, with 3 minutes left, and I see a tank so I have to start engine to turn my tank around and shoot him, and then when I turn engine off again to repair, it's back to 10 minutes!.  even if I didn't move my tank at all, it'll reset just from starting engine.  Such an awful game mechanic.

I get the impression that the whole repair logic is based on considerations about gamer psychology, trying to make an attractive/addictive game.

So you sit there repairing with the engine off, you hear danger approaching you, and you know turning on the engine is going to screw up your repair efforts.

Adrenaline/Dopamine kind of thing. When they introduced the repair system, I thought, now still pretending that we're moving towards a tank equivalent of a flight sim, is just silly.

I run into an invisible tree at 14 km/h and have engine damage. If the repair turns out to be 2 minutes, I think, fair enough, let's do it. If it turns out to be 5 minutes, I think, that takes wayyy too long, let's get a new tank from base. LOL.

Try telling that some car mechanics for motivation ?
