Old tracks burned with pre-4.601 won't load.  Anyone else having this issue?  Is there a fix?

Me too.

It happens to me but I thought It happened because I deleted several tracks manually from the directory.

My squadron have several old tracks including a fly-by track for a member who joined the heavenly flight, none work now :(

I'm HOPING that there is a method forthcoming to fix this, as MANY memories are now lost if not.

Unfortunately they are not recoverable and probably won't be in the future. This has happened many times over the years. Best thing to do is to record the tracks using OBS, or some other video recording software, and save them. You'll lose the ability to edit the tracks but at least you'll have recordings.

Well that is a huge shame.  I mean, if the devs can get us here, surely there is a method of re-saving the tracks in a similar way as for older missions (re-save in mission editor).  Maybe someone has an app that would convert the tracks?

TACVIEW still seems to work, so IMHO it shouldn't be that hard for someone to fix this?  I'm not a software guy, so am really unable to help more than to just point it out...

You have to remember that a track file is not a video recording, it's a replay based on mission data, and as such will be incompatible with some new game versions. I would like to think like you, that someone will come along and devise a way to recover them, but I don't think it would be an easy feat.

Seems to me that at one point playing tracks worked, and now it doesn't.  Clearly it IS possible, even if the 4.506 track player was made available as a separate app or plugin, problem solved, especially if there was a "save as" feature, like in the mission editor.
