wow at first it was super furustrating

i was in finnish vp server and didn't even know how to navigate through the map

but once i figured that out

it was god damn fun

although the map is super huge for tanks and it needs some patient to get the engagement

you ocasionally find the enemy tank around capture point

and the players treat each other super nicely unlike the experience i had with post scriptum...

no seriousness and having fun

i love this community

i'll see you soon at the server hahaha

you will get used to it bro, just keep playing.  It helps if you have some formal map reading training but here's a couple of quick tips:

1.) Look for places where the road goes in a straight compass direction.  Many times that will help you figure out where you are if you're on a road. (i.e "ok this is the only place where the road is straight east/west, this must be where I am")

2.) Big Grid is 10km, small grids are 3.3 km - things take a lot longer than you think to traverse.

3.) At least on Finnish, the wooded areas on the map are about 70% accurate to the real terrain you are on.  Don't let them be your only guidepoints, but they are good general inidcators

"It knows where it is by constantly assessing where it is not."

I will have navigation training someday soon in SCG, but as a military guy: use the compass, its your best friend and use roads, rivers, towns, and landmarks as guidelines, dont trust the map too much especielly forests as our maps are like real life military maps: not often 100% correct.
Take out where you are and then use the compass and head west/east etc and plan your route and you will be fine.

Takes time but its a skill and one you can use in real life too.

I had lately almost exactly same experiences.

while not being a tank man at hearth, i bought quite long ago the TC to support the devs. Only just during this weekend i tried it out on Finnish server and it was just glorious!

I felt real fear seeing the circling ducks and ju87Gs near by. I was hopping form forest to forest praying that they dont notice me. felt pure joy when the allied fighter chased them off and felt pity when the 109s got him shortly after.

than the hide and seek with enemy player cntrolled panzers, just glorious!

I hope so much that the tc2 will hapen, preferably with the late war western tanks!
