Complete Tables of Plane Performance

Hi guys.

Problem to solve:

I would like to bring this sugestion because some time happened and more and more planes are coming in to the sim

Now the only way possible in game to compare the performances of the planes and to have an Idea how to fight our oponents is the Specification tab with the engine timers, some info about speeds, climb rates etc.

This information is not enought because the planes have a lot of engines modes, different loadouts, different point when you should change the stage etc. and there are no comon criteria to show the performances on this part.

That is so confusing for the new pilots coming in to the game that they really need to rely on external info to have a close Idea about what to expect from the plane. I show here an example to ilustrate what I am talking about

This is the info we have about the K4 and the Spitfire mkXIV two oponents that are the top fighters on each side so the comparation is useful. Check how the K4 is measured on combat power while the spit on emergency for the climb and turn performance while the speeds are on different altitudes except the one at sea level.

This is a huge problem for the not experienced pilots coming into the game and for the more experienced pilots it is a pain to make test or to rely on other people tables

Sugestion:

Include on the menu a plane comparator showing grafics about climb performance, turn rate, true air speed etc. On that comparator you can change load of the planes as gun pods gondolas etc or to select between engine mode (continuous, combat, emergency, boosted...) to see how the grafics are affected by changing parameters and comparing it with other planes.

Similar to what we had on the IL2 1946 compare but more complete with the standars of a better product like IL2 GB

Benefits:

New or unexperienced players will have an easy way to understand diffent characteristics of the planes knowing who is faster, who climbs better etc. So that will improve the learning process.

Old and experienced players can have the right info to exploit weaknesses and advantages of his plane and to have a complex knoledge of the planes at different circumstances to improve tactics.

I do enjoy and use those charts, they're nice and provide a slice of the story, but that's just the problem, its only a slice.  From the builders point of view, if they integrate such into the game there is always a risk that this becomes THE focus of story.  The reference points would vary if sourced from real world data, and should be single point proofs of the target they attempted to portray.  That's the safest place to be for them, its probably better from their point of view to let the third parties extrapolate and present, of which they do a great job.

That and most noobs will only see a bunch of blue and red lines, won't have a clue how to read the chart, nor how to properly apply it.  And it's never the noobs who will chop hay over any officially given numbers.  Pretty sure some of the guys on the team have seen this thing play out before.  Don't get me wrong, ain't saying no, just a wild guess why it hasn't already been done.

Old saying, never supply the rope for your own hanging.

They've likely done it like this because that's how the aircraft have their information documented historically,

I don't think any of them were ever really tested the same way as another Airforce

I think the developers have higher priorities than creating thoroughly unhistorical performance comparison graphs.

Kind of like this? But more "official" rather than created by a user?

Hello Devs,

Would it be possible to make all (extended) information available:

-  in downloadable (PDF?) format

- included in the sim, accessible from the menu?

Especially when I'm in the sim I would find it very helpful if I could lookup information about a particular plane.

Thanks.
