Issues with skinning the P-39

Hello all --

First of all, thank you very much for supplying these skins! I'm constantly surprised by how great the IL2 community is.

I'm working on the P39 at the moment and notice with every skin I create the interior of the nose cone, which I can see because of the protruding 37mm cannon, is see through. I haven't messed with the original file much so I'm not sure what I'm doing to get this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what is the purpose of the "warm hue" layer. Just wondering.

Thanks in advance everyone!

That 'seethrough' bit will more than likely be covered by 'Holes' section in the Alpha. If anything in the Alpha is pure black then it comes out as see-through in the finished article. If you track it down and then just make it slightly less than PURE black it will be just that. A black part but not see-through.

Sorry for being so vague but I'm in the middle of something and I just came across this. Don't worry, things like this catch out even the most seasoned skinners every now and then!!

Thanks for the reply, Raptorattacker. I can't seem to fix the problem by adjusting the "Holes" section in the Alpha. In fact, I just now downloaded the P39 file again and exported a DDS file after only removing the "warm hue" layer and I'm still finding the same problem. Here is a picture of the issue.

Here's where your problem is...

By the way, this isn't really the place for these sort of matters which is why I directed you to the Skinners Forum, just sayin'... ;)

Thanks, Raptorattacker. I was able to solve the problem thanks to your graphic.

I will start perusing through the skinners forum as I'm sure to have more questions in the future. I appreciate the invite and the help!
