While in the store a little while ago I noticed that it has been exactly seven years to the day since I purchased early access to IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad. I'm sure some have been there since the beginning, but I held out until it was not just a weekend simulation. I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed these seven years, and look forward to many more. Kudos to Jason and the whole team for their dedication and hard work bringing us to where we are today. And a big thank you to all the forum members for your advice and guidance over the years.

I echo the sentiment. I joined just a few days apart from you, back in Jan 2014.

It has been a great ride going from the early access with just the lapino map with the F4 and Lagg3, to all the glory and wide gamut of choices we have now. The team made lots of progress and the love and care they have for their product does not go unnoticed. I look forward to the full BON release and whatever comes after that.

Yep, I feel the sim is finally at a point where it can rightfully be called the true successor to the vast 1946--albeit with far greater realism, visuals, effects, and immersion. I don't think I bought Stalingrad until 2017 and then I was away again, but now the sim has me completely hooked with the variety, depth, and choices.

13 September 2013 is when I pre-ordered Battle of Stalingrad.

The sim has come a long way since then.

I think I remember being blown away watching a video of the upcoming game back in 2013 and being amazed that the trucks left tire tracks in the snow, and their headlights worked at night.

frankly I'm still blown away by this bit. In VR it's such a candy!

There's a single player mission where you are a lone IL-2 starting at night and you have to try to destroy a vehicle column. Yep 7 years later it's still cooling seeing all the headlights, search lights, AAA firing at you at night. In VR it's amazing.

I like flying over a train and disappear in to the night in the train's headlight, such a cool effect when watching the track. :)
