Trooper117 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Several other Flight sim games have a 'Basics' training package incorporated into the game, will BoS go down this road? The 'Flight School' can be a rewarding and fulfilling part of any package if handled right. It would also be of benefit to include an 'Advanced' training package for pilots who already have flight sim experience, but may not be knowledgeable on WWII Russian and German aircraft for instance. Just a thought anyway Bung Ho chaps!
71st_AH_Hooves Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 They should hire Requiem, His dogfight tactics videos are second to none in RoF. Having them in the game would really help get some guys up to speed, even if they still couldnt do the maneuver (as some of them are pretty difficult) being able to recognize a maneuver would be a huge step in the right direction. And maybe, even incoperate the completion of said "Flight School" into the campaign or game somehow would be a step above and beyond any sim Ive played. I know CloD did something like this in the trainer, but it was pretty mundane.
FlatSpinMan Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 If there is Complex Engine Management (as I expect there is - to some degree at least), then it'd be so handy to learn what a supercharger does and when to switch to/from it, and so on.
Rjel Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 The one thing I really did enjoy in CLoD was flying the Tiger Moth. I'm not so anal that I'd need a two place 109 or Yak but I would like to see a flight instructor (even if it was only audio) to go along with any training missions that might come along in the future.

(or trying to do lol)
kestrel79 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I thought RoF's training was pretty well done. The English acting was pretty rough, but the actual training missions were pretty cool, as was the chalkboard style intros. Very immersive. IL2 Training, CloD, was very sterile.

I agree, as far as training ROF ranks right up there, about the only other one I have seen that is really great, is the DCS-A10C training. If they were to do at least like they did with ROF, it would be nice.
royraiden Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 ROF Training is pretty good, so is the DCS one.Something similar to those two would be ideal.
kestrel79 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I forgot about DCS. Yes that is the best training videos. Interactive, and they explain what everything does in the cockpit.
