Is there a way to lock my tank in multiplayer so random people can’t hop in it?

Kind of a new guy question. Sorry if I missed an obvious setting. It’s just a bit frustrating after spending upwards of 45 minutes navigating, flanking, fighting, and securing a position to then have a random person teleport into my tank and fight with me for control of it. Thankfully when I realized he hopped in (I didn’t even get a notification which is weird to me) , I asked him to leave and he did. Very nice of him to be understanding.
