Game not downloading

After some time I wanted to play this game again and purchased early access Battle of Normandy extension.

 

I've de-installed the old game launcher, downloaded the new game launcher and re-installed it.

 

It started to download the game files. Up to about 75% when it stopped downloading anything. The download rate froze at the value at this time. Waiting several hours did nothing. My computer never went into energy saving mode btw (since disabled).

 

Now closing the game launcher and re-launching it leads to download with 0 bits/s so not downloading at all. It doesn't matter if I launch the game launcher in admin mode. 

 

De-installing and re-installing the game launcher leads to the same behavior as after complete new installation. So stuck at 75%.

 

I've spent a considerable amount into this game and I would like to play it. So can somebody from the community or developer help me?

There isn't much to DL for Normandy yet sir.  Just a few aircraft.  The map is a long way from release.  I suspect you will need one of the current modules to get a full download to work.  This is one of the things that is not exactly clear in the descriptions of the game.  Did you order from the store here, or Steam?

You shouldn't need a new module to download the game, the game client is the same no matter what you own, just different unlocks.

First step is contacting support with your issue. Support / IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles  Sometimes they can take a while to respond, so best to get a ticket in even if you can fix it. 

 

Could you post system specs, windows version, etc.? 

What kind of firewall/antivirus software have you got? Could be blocking the download, I suppose.

Try looking for any file beginning with Update

\data\update.log

updates\last_update.log

You are welcome to upload them here so maybe some one can help you.

Thanks guys for your help and advice. Meanwhile I've identified the issue and was able to resolve it. I had not enough space on my hard disk ? ?

I have been having a very similar issue. Usually the downloader will just keep going to ridiculous numbers such as 50GB downloaded out of 30GB. I do not have the issue of not enough disk space, as there is over 200GB free on the SSD I usually have it installed to. Anyone here have any ideas on how to remedy this?

I haven't been able to download either. The launcher keeps updating the amount of data downloaded, but it is not really downloading anything because of an error. If you check the size of your install folder it may be no more than 1-2 GB.

 

When I look at the file update.log in the folder "1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data", it repeats "MD5 of update for 003 is wrong" over and over, meaning the game never gets downloaded.

 

The best suggestion I have is that you post a support ticket including that file, like I did.

I got the game installed now, by using a network cable rather than wireless. Seems the launcher is more sensitive than steam.
