Thrustmaster T16000 FCS Replacement

Can anyone recommend a good stick similar to the T16000 but one lasts much longer.

I like the 16000 but the first one lasted 8 months, the second 4 months. Both developed the Rudder/Yaw jitter problem. I’m retired and only use it for IL2 so it doesn’t get any abuse, just gentle turns.

Thrustmaster have known about this issue for years and have done nothing about it - I assume it suits them to have people buying a new stick every year.

I won’t be buying any more of their products until they sort this out.

in the meantime any suggestions for replacement.

They want you to buy a warthog LoL. BTW saitek stuff also wears out ...

I have not had any problems with my VKB Gladiator, but I am not a heavy user. I hear good things about the Saitek Pro line, but the price approaches the low end of the VKB/Virpil top of the line products right now.

I'd certainly try to get the T16000 replaced if its under warranty. That's the only way they will ever fix the problem, by having to replace lots of sticks. After you buy a better stick, you can sell the T16000 for the crazy price they seem to be fetching right now.

That sucks. But perhaps an opportunity to invest in rudder pedals and disable the stick twist function in control settings?

VKB NXT Standard ~$120 or Premium ~$150 (more buttons on HAT's).

Contactless sensor in X-Y axis (as in T.16000M)

Contactless in twist sensor (T.16000M use cheap potmer)

More buttons on grip and overall.

Go to You tube site - Thrustmaster T 16000 Twist ( yaw ) fix - randito 70030.

Had exactly the same problem myself, so took the plunge.

So far so good

That is a great idea, too. I love my pedals; don't think I would fly with a twist rudder at all anymore.

Like others said, buying the TFRP rudder pedals might be the best solution. They’re like $119 on Amazon right now, and would both fix your issue with the twist jitter and give you a real rudder pedal, which is a big improvement.

If you’re not already using the T16000 HOTAS, and just the stick, then the VKB stick Sokol1 linked might be more reliable direct replacement, although I’ve never used one myself.

SInce starting this post I have had another T16000 FCS rudder fail - I am now on my 4th stick in just over a year. To be fait to Thrustmaster they have replaced  these sticks under warranty, the last one being a few months out of warranty, so great customer service but they have a quality issue that they need to resolve.

I wont be buying another T16000 despite it being a great stick when it works.

An alternative is keep T.16000M an buy a rudder pedal set for solve the twist issue, can even lock the twist with an small screw.

Entry level models  - TFRP, CH PRO Pedals, Logitech G PRO Rudder PedalS ~ $125.00 to $165.00. VKB T-Rudder (high quality but only one axis) - $215.00
