CPU frametime high

When I'm near another plane my CPU frametime is in the red I'm using FPSVR app to track this. This results in a great deal of stutter & slowdown.

My full specs.
windows 10
Geforce RTX 3090fe
Ryzen 7 5800x
DDR4 64gb 3200
Installed on an SSD
Valve index @ 1.2PD 90hz

 

There is nothing running in the background that is causing this & if i'm flying without AI its fine.

Any one with similar issue? I just can't play the game like this any kind of action the cpu if spiking, otherwise the game has barely any strain.

Something must have changed in the games engine. I noticed a significant drop in flying performance and everything becoming very slow especially in the career mode with many AI planes around you. Just tried to intercept bombers and it was too much for me so I stopped. I can see there is an ongoing discussion about this issue on steam forum as well.

Yep, performance is much worse for everyone after the last patch it seems, including all the guys on finnish last night who were talking about it in chat. The game engine needs much optimization.

Its not for me. I was on finnish last night, I didn't see it discussed in the chat. Sweeping generalizations are unhelpful and inaccurate.  

 

finnish currently has some serverside issues with lag and rubber banding but this is does not affect other servers. The Finnish server guys will sort it out with their usual elan and promptness, I am sure.

It was saturday night. About 7 of us were in agreement...from both sides.

I found the solution and it is very simple. 

 

Check your power settings !!!

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options

... and make sure you are on "High performance"

 

This has resolved all of my problems for now.
