Oculus Quest 2 - Virtual Desktop vs Link

Hi All,

 

I'm new to VR, and new to IL2 BOS / Great Battles. On the other hand i'm a kind of veteran of Warbirds, Aces High, older Il2 Sturmovik, so not that new to flying concept.

Recently i bought VR set for my doughters ;) and started playing Il2. First thing first - there's no comming back to 2d after that, but on the other hand i've exepcted a bit more from the ... quality side - like right now i cannot say wheter that plane ~1km away from me is BF109 of Mig3. I've done all of those suggestions pinned to this forums, still not much of an improvement.

 

My PC specs are:

• Ryzen 5 3600
• MSI B450 Gaming plus max
• 16 GBytes DDR4
• Gforce RTX 2060

 

Now im running my Oculus Quest 2, on Virtual Desktop, with resolution set in Steam VR for Il2 to 130%, and FPS in game between 50-60

 

Question:

Should i move to Oculus Link type of connection? Will i get better image quality by doing so

I recommend trying it out with a shorter cable first, you can judge for yourself whether it's better. I heard that opencomposite rather than steamvr also helps (but you lose the important check-your-six-program).
