Option "Available from internet" when Setting up Server

When attempting to host a server, there is an option called "Availabe from internet". What does it mean? Can I somehow also only play on LAN? If yes, how to join a session when it's not listed on the server list?

The option means that players outside your LAN can see the server listed.  Within your LAN you will always see it listed.
