VR Invisible Objects Beyond Tank's Arc of Fire

While using VR inside a tank, vehicles "disappear" while operating an unlocked weapon and the barrel is not facing the phantom vehicle. This can most easily be tested while using the Sherman's AA 50cal; while the gun is locked and stowed, you can see all vehicles around you. However, as soon as the gun is unlocked and the crosshairs are displayed, vehicles become invisible while the barrel is facing away.

This test was done with a Rift S, and I tried to repeat the test without any tracking software; the latter did not have this issue.

Additionally, this problem can be seen using the periscopes inside the tank (i.e. having the tank's gun unlocked and peering through the loader's periscope).

That's right, because the "game" camera is attached to the machine gun, and by turning the machine gun you turn the angle of the game camera, this is easily checked if you watch the track in VR. There's nothing you can do about it, that's how optimization works.

There's plenty that can be done about it, the devs just have to do it.  Literally every other VR game in existence solves this kind of problem.  When in VR the camera should not be attached to a physical part of the vehicle.  This pretty much makes the tanks unplayable in VR.

Edit: Hell, this isn't an issue in aircraft, so they clearly know how to make it work... they just don't care to fix it.

^ This. It's been an issue since release and I haven't touched the tanks since then due to it. "Optimization" is a piss poor excuse for a game that's already stupidly well optimized in VR to begin with. This should have been fixed weeks after the initial release.
