Bearcat Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I am still trying it out.. I have found that with these patches it is often better to give it time and make adjustments before coming to any major conclusions. But so far I do like it..

They can't lock their tailwheels anymore, they now have WEP (what they didn't have before like irl) and their engine goes out when giving 120% mixture. Also, they can't start tehir engine with 120% mixture. ~S~
Bearcat Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 It seems like the hit effects from some planes.. like 109s in particular is much more pronounced. A cannon hit in the wing will send a plane into a much more pronounced spin.. when in rreality because the skin of these aicraft was so thin often the round would go through the wing. Itis almost like the wings are now thicker so more of the kinetic energy is retained. I tested this in 4.11.1 and in 4.12. A hit that would make your plane shudder in 4.11.1 will now send you on a roll along the roll axis of the plane of at least 45-180 degrees..
AndyJWest Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Not done much yet, but the new Ki-45 is fun. Trying out the upward-firing-guns version on a formation of B 29s resulted in a dead engine: It flew well enough on one engine (65% or so power - it tended to overheat with more, and I could comfortably maintain height). Landing on one engine is simple enough.
