Random Crashes to Desktop in menu navigation system

Experiencing random crashes to desktop when navigating in Menus eg:

Randomly crashes to desktop when returning to main menu.

Sometimes crashes to desktop when remapping a command.

I have never had a crash to desktop when flying, so run time seems stable.

 

Edit: I can supply dump files if it helps.

Edit2: I am sure this is mentioned by others elsewhere in this section - but so little time to read it all.

 

I have unticked 'read only' and applied it to the whole IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles Folders system.

 

One other comment : cannot takeoff in FW190A8 - maybe I am missing something but I just end up turning in circles.

If this really has been going on since 2016 then:

 

1) Devs really should be looking into it and not the community/testers - do the devs look here at all?

2) No further dump file examples are gonna help the devs if the dump files that have already been sent over all these years have not so far?

Fixed the issue by unticking the VR check box in settings - I don't have VR yet it was on as default.

Ok so the VR setting was a red herring.

Fix was to replace my aging MSFF2 Joystick with a more modern unit.

The associated pid.dll was the cause of the random crashes.
