Help with Mod installations.

Hi,

 

Due to a recent computer crash I had to re-install a clean version of IL-2 1946 onto a new Windows 10 computer. I currently have version 4.13.4m installed in a folder in (C:) Drive (not in Program Files or Program Files (x86)).

 

It's been so many years since I've installed Mods, I'm not sure which one to use or how to do it. There are so many to pick from and most of the threads are several years old, I'm not sure which are accurate to follow. SAS, UP3, HSFX, Modact, JSGME, etc. not sure where to start? Can these mods be added/played together or are they stand alone mods played separately?

 

I'm also confused if these mods can be added to 4.13.4m or I have to revert back to 4.12 or possibly another earlier version?

 

I just fool around with IL-2 at this point, rarely go online with Hyperlobby (remember when 1000 people a night were on it? The good old days. lol ), mostly goof around with oddball missions or challenges I think up to do. I'm more interested in Mods that add aircraft or maps. Not to worried about the minutia mods for sound, cockpit improvements, special effects/weapons, etc..

 

What are my best options and where do I start?

For IL2 - 1946 you can not go past the World at War series, by the SAS group, it gives you 7 or 8 game historical era's in one easy to manage update system. have a look at these threads to come up to speed.
