Q. re: AI leaders, mission box, configuration

In a recent coop mission (FC version of PWCG) I had two player-pilots in a flight who wanted an AI pilot to guide them through the waypoints.

I added a higher ranking AI pilot to the flight roster to lead the flight through its waypoints but the AI pilot was listed third on the flight roster and upon starting the mission the AI pilot was subordinate to one of the human pilots and did not follow the waypoints.   How do I force an AI pilot that has been added to a flight to lead that flight?

In that same mission I had two flights, one fighter, one bomber.   Te fighter flight patrol area was in the mission box, but the bombers were assigned to a target well north of the mission box.   I had thought that all active flights were assigned targets within the mission box.   Is that not correct?

How does the 'max number of planes' configuration setting work?   I tested it by setting the max to 2 planes on the friendly side and generating a mission, but several planes were assigned to the friendly flights.

The pilot at the top of the chalk board is the leader.  To move an assigned pilot in the formation

1. Select the pilot by clicking the radio button next to his name.

2. Use the mouse wheel to move him up or down in the formation.

Thanks.   Any thoughts on the mission box question?

Some missions might go outside the mission box in search of a target.  I do that intentionally but if it is really far outside then that is not good.  Given the randomizations in PWCG resolving the target may lead to a less than ideal mission every once in awhile.  I would suggest scrubbing such missions and generating another one.  If this is a consistent issue then zip up the campaign using "report error" and I can look at it.

Will do.  The mission I am talking about had one flight bombing targets that were in 0405.8 when the northern boundary of the mission box was in 0505.2.   Is that within the expected tolerance?     Is there a recommended mission box size?

Not sure what those numbers are.   I usually see map points represented as meters from the southwest corner.

The numbers are the sector/subsectors on the Arras map.   I've attached a small jpeg of the map with the mission box location outlined in yellow and the target location for the bombers in red.

That's too far for WWI.  Might be OK for WWII but even then probably a bit much.
