CBARoughneck Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 can we have the original view from il2? Iv tried all the keys and views that i can think of and cant really get out of cockpit or 3rd person view. the old FPS view was awesome
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) You can view your plane from the outside, F2 to view, F1 for cockpit. Use the mouse to change angles, zoom, etc. Edited June 7, 2014 by VR-Stick
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Unless you mean the view of a late war B24, over water, green and warm. Then I support your initiative. (Just not the Wonder Woman view please.) Edited June 7, 2014 by A1FltTrn=HerrMurf 1
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I always wondered if IL2 1946 had the period correct Wonder Woman view. 1
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 The gun camera is coming after release. Don't worry
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 8, 2014 1CGS Posted June 8, 2014 The gun camera is coming after release. Don't worry You don't know that.
Cybermat47 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I always wondered if IL2 1946 had the period correct Wonder Woman view. Well, I doubt her invisible plane had the dials, as it was made by either Amazon Warriors or Greek Gods. Plus, I've read her first story, and I couldn't see any dials, so I'd say that it's incorrect
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 8, 2014 1CGS Posted June 8, 2014 hell is everybody rich here? oculus rift, buying games even before theyre published, changing hardware every year... No, we're just gainfully employed, so we can afford that sort of stuff.
JtD Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I'd also like to have the Il-2 F2 view, not the totally unintuitive RoF one. Who on earth cares about keeping the view in the same absolute angle if one want to look at a highly mobile object like the aircraft?
216th_Peterla Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I think the current one is even better that the old Il2 one, just my opinion.
s8n Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 150 bucks is not that much for a track ir and is was the best 150 bucks i ever spent...
senseispcc Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) I personally never use it. The il2 view that is the trackIR is a wonderful invention. Edited June 8, 2014 by senseispcc
dburne Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 (as a amtter of fact i ran cod great at 80 fps till the community patch ruined the fps for me The performance in TF Modded ( 4.312) Cliffs of Dover far exceeds anything seen in any previous official version. Price of admission: $ 0.00
ph1317 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I liked old IL2's views a lot and I'm not quite sure which ones are available in BoS. Is it possible to fly your own plane from external view, but so that camera is simultaneously padlocked to an enemy plane or ground object?
J4SCrisZeri Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 i want that view too, the lack of it would be a fail.
Aracno Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I never use WW view, but was part of IL2 success. I mean there was a lot of activity based on WW view server and i know a lot of people that started his Ac simulator experience with WW view and now fly on CoD full real server. And if they want to draw beginners and WT players is the way to go. 2
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 The extended HUD is available in external view in BOS, although no artificial horizon. This view does not track directly behind your aircraft though. If a view were made to do that, you pretty much have the view mentioned in the OP. Although I personally would never use this view while flying, I wouldn't want to restrict how to fly to the way I do things. If it draws in more people, therefore selling more copies of BOS, why not have it? The only reason I can think of for leaving it out altogether is if someone would be able to come up with a cheat to use it. 1
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 You don't know that. They said so far it is going to happen but probably not at release.
Gambit21 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 the litle virtual plane that was in the bottom of ww view was just great for spatial awareness using mouse people dont understand that if you dont have trackir you cant look behind the bars so you need ww view hell is everybody rich here? oculus rift, buying games even before theyre published, changing hardware every year... I had a 13-1 kill ratio online (CoOps) in the old IL2 and did just fine without the WW view, I always disallowed it in the missions I hosted. I did just fine with the hat switch and still would if my Track IR died.
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Do you mean the view with gauges but out of the cockpit No gauges. Just a foward view with no cockpit.
SharpeXB Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 The "Wonder Woman" invisible plane view isn't needed in BoS or RoF since the icons are visible through your own plane, making it in effect "invisible". I don't know about old IL-2 but in Wings of Prey and Cliffs of Dover your cockpit hides the icons. Players that need help with awareness or who don't own a head tracking device can simply turn the icons on.
Uriah Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Having transparent cockpit (wonder woman view WWV) is a dead horse. I tried many times in RoF and gave up trying and gave up the game. I can kind of appreciate the argument in RoF because the view obstructed by nose and upper wing was a particular issue with WWI planes. I suspect fighter pilots had some way of raising up their heads a bit to get a better look over the nose of the plane. I very much enjoy WWV and a am dismayed by those who want to keep options out that other enjoy. Letting me have the option of WWV in no way hinders those that don't like it. And it does not make those who use WWV better able to win a dog fight. But another view is just as important and just is not quite available in BoS. It is what I call Wing Man View. It is an outside view of your aircraft from a perspective of what a wing man might be having. The view bobs and views just like what a wing man would be seeing. And if using padlock it does not have your plane blocking the view of the padlock target. Three games had this. MS Combat Flight Simulator, European Air War, and Red Baron.
Zak Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 No gauges. Just a foward view with no cockpit. Won't be in the game at least at release.
Mysticpuma Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I actually asked for this option.....but only in replays. That way movie-makers get a gun camera option and also flyby camera rig....so if possible, maybe just in replay mode?
6./ZG26_Gielow Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Won't be in the game at least at release. That is what I am trying to say to people here But don't forget to do it later or this forum will be forever cursed by my magic gun camera footage hunting down every live player Edited June 10, 2014 by JG62Gielow
smink1701 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 It would be great if it was just like IL2 ... toggle between gauges with pipper, pipper alone / no gauges, just sky. This would be a way to simulate gun camera mode.
