Il2 radiator damaging

Hi all

reading many books I know Il2 was very easy to shot down if radiator received few hits..( in a short time the engine sized up).

 

Maybe is already modeled..don' t know exactly.

Oil seemed to be the critical weakness, most planes in game are able to fly much longer then they could in real life after a a bad coolant hit.

 

I think they've done this because it's not much fun to have to constantly ditch after a engine hit. There is some excitement in nursing it home. It feels generous at times though I agree.

 

A bad hit in the oil on the other hand, the iL-2 rarely makes it home in my experience so far
