Bought the game last week love it so far except for the only issue I've had this whole time. Whenever I load into the game no matter the map or airplane my audio will begin to crackle and snap and the sound becomes sort of washed out. At first I went to my audio setup and inspected it as I am using a DAC/AMP with BD MMX300's. Checked all connections and then replugged all connections and even changed audio Hz rate on windows with no change. My audio setting in game has everything maxed except for Music. I have no more ideas on what to check for issues any help is greatly apperciated.

I think you talk about the stress noise bug.

Aircraft undergo powerful stresses when manoeuvering through the air, especially at relatively high speeds, and this is well modelled in the game: you'll hear how the frame, under some strees conditions, produces this noise. Not all types of aircraft produce it at the same speed or during the same manoeuvres. A Bf 108 Taifun presents a weaker structure than a Hurricane Mk I for example. Manoeuvering one 108 at 120 mph will produce that noice earlier than on board one Hurricane Mk I at the same speed: the Hurricane has a stronger structure, so the Hurricane will produce that noise at speeds that are far higher than 120 mph.

The problem is that, under certain conditions, this noise appears when it should not and then the noise may stop... or not. It's very odd, I know, but it's what it is, a bug. Until very recently this bug was a much more serious issue: the developers managed to address this almost entirely. Now it's ok, the bug appears sometimes only, mainly at crashlanding or after a violent touchdown on the ground. Believe me DeviousDingo, we are very lucky if we compare the current version with former versions.

I understand that the game has come a long way; however, this is a high pitch crackle and pop it sounds as if my headphone wires are twisted and distorting the audio but they're not as CLOD is the only program that causes the audio crackle. I can play spotify while playing the game and no crackle is present in that audio, but is in CLOD. Also this bug appears in flight and taxiing on the ground. Even with my engine off other engine sounds produce the same effect.

Spotify while playing Cliffs of Dover? Very bad idea. This game is very sensitive to the use of several softwares at the same time, you have to turn off everything except TeamSpeak or Discord, for example. At most you can leave an additional file open to facilitate the return to desktop when necessary (left Alt + Tab key, or Windows key). For example, I play with TeamSpeak and the Flashcards pdf file left open... and nothing else (the Flashcards pdf, as any other pdf file when open, allows easier desktop returns and doesn't produce game crashes). I recently used Gimp and several other softwares while playing the game, and I seriously payed the consequences... my resolution in the game went to 640x480! I spent hours before I manage to make my game goes back to a resolution of 1920x1080. So I'll never do that again, running too many softwares while executing Cliffs of Dover.

If you want to resolve your sound issue start using the game in proper conditions: no Spotify, no other softwares nor browsers, only one comms software and your Flashcards file. That's the best piece of advice I can give I think.

I opened spotify while playing to test my headphones and make sure the audio issue was isolated to CLOD I do not play with spotify open and only play the game with discord and flashcards open at max. I will try to close every other program to see if it changes anything.

I have a similar issue of audio crackling it is only noticeable when flying 109. I think I also heard it in other planes but it is very weak so I am not 100% sure it's there.

I have DT990 headphones with Creative G6 USB sound card.
