No trouble at all. I found the photos and uploaded them for you, or anyone who might be interested. It's a 61.25 MB zip file, here's the link https://workupload.com/file/VEuZpuw6rdw There's also a few shots of the small part of the Anson cockpit that was on display in the Australian War Memorial (AWM) in Canberra I took as well. Both are indoors and the light in the AWM is really not great for taking photos. But I'm sure you will find them interesting none the less. =============================== The Mosquito coming with BoN is an FB MK.VI (6), I was thinking of the early bomber version with the plexiglass nose, MK.IV (4). I know the strafer will be more popular, but it's already going to be in BoN and it started out as a bomber with guns added, so a fair chunk of the work will already be done towards a bomber variant, should they ever decide to make it. Lots of data available and survivors, even the prototype is still where it was built. But we will get what they can offer us in the end I guess. I just like the idea of running in fast and low without any guns for a pinpoint raid, really stands the hair on the back of the neck up that bit more And it's a beautiful bird... Thanks so much for digging up those photos, I'm excited to take a look tomorrow when I have some more time. That Mosquito is a beauty indeed! I can't wait to fly one, and it's the BON aircraft I'm most excited about. I'd love to get that bomber version sometime. -Groove
Legioneod Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 (edited) For a proper allied medium bomber I wouldn't mind paying $50. A bomber is more complex and requires much more work compared to something like a fighter or even the Ju52, so 50 bucks is a fair price imo, I don't think it should be much lower or higher than that. That is not necessarily the case for all bombers. I would like to point out to devblog 227 in which the devs mentioned the Tempest, P38J, P51D and ai version of the B25D were the most complex aircraft they ever had to create of there team's history. While this does say alot about the difficulty of the B25D, it also means the Ju88A4, Pe2 (Both), A20B and He111 (Both) were easier then the single engine fighter aircraft like the P51 and Tempest. 1

I imagine they were indeed mostly used as trainers in Canada, as they were in Australia, but they saw regular front-line use in the UK with Coastal Command. They were also used as transports and general squadron hacks. I think off the top of the head the Anson even gets a mention in Clostermann's book "The Big Show" where he refers to "the duty Anson". I may be wrong, it's been a while since I read it or it may have been another book Yeah, I actually kind-of agree. There are more important aircraft, but I'd like one (probably). That said, I think the handling, performance, and view matter a lot for these types of planes (where the focus is as much on flying as on fighting). I really like some aircraft including Bf-108, RWD-8, RWD-10, some of the Flying Circus aircraft (and the Demoiselle and Farman/Boxkite in FS-WW1), the OA-1 Burnelli, some gliders... but it is very dependent on wing loading (low is good), power to weight ratio (reasonable is good), and handling (good stall characteristics are good). I think that, when I got Desert Wings, about half of my time was spent on the Bf-108 for a couple of months.

I don't know how many people would really be interested in level bombing, I know it has it's advocates and naysayers. But the last video I watched of a large group of bombers going out to level bomb turned into a dive bombing mission. This has been my lot on many occasions with the He-111, Ju-88, Pe-3 and A-20. I would much rather have an aircraft I can get up close and personal with enemy ground units. The A-20G is that bird. The A-26 would be nice but there is another seat to make in the cockpit, where the A-20 only has one. Bring on the A-20G...... I'm really looking forward to the IL2 version of the Mosquito, but I do not know what the weapons load outs are going to be, is it just four bombs like the other sim is using. Or will we get more options. I like the Ju-88 and the A-20 with their load outs, the 20 100lb bombs are great for taking out vehicle convoys. Hoss Edited October 23, 2021 by 352nd_Hoss
DBFlyguy Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 I'd rather have the B-25 over the A-20G. Outside of being period accurate for BoN and BOBP and American ordnance options, it doesn't bring anything we don't already have with the A-20B. The B-25 would finally give the allied side a true level bomber. My main concern on the B-25 though is would we even be able to have enough on a mission in game to make it somewhat believable/worth it? 1
Feldgrun Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 I'd pay for a B-17, but am not that interested in a B-25 (unless I'm bombing Tokyo).
